چکیده

The antibacterial activity, and the effect of application additional topical fluoride on bacterial biofilm formation, surface roughness new-generation hybrid/fluoride-releasing materials were investigated. Two hundred forty specimens prepared in split Teflon molds (8 × 2 mm) from a resin composite (as negative control: G-aenial A’Chord/GC), Equia Forte HT Fil(GC), Fil+Equia Coat, Riva Self-Cure (SDI), Self-Cure+Equia Zirconomer (Shofu), Beautifil II Silver (Shofu). Penicillin G,1U was used as positive control. activity evaluated by agar diffusion test immediately after set using Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) Lactobacillus casei (L. casei), repeated 0.20% w/w (900 ppm) fluoride. formation S. each material quantified crystal violet staining. Surface measured profilometer. data analyzed Kruskal–Wallis, Dunn’s, one-way ANOVA, Tukey’s HSD tests (p < 0.05). None tested restorative showed no inhibition zones observed treatment restoratives with There significant differences among groups terms 0.005). Fil without coating lowest, while self-cure highest accumulation. demonstrated did not make any change. Biofilm differed. All different values Characteristics compositions seemed to be more effective than roughness.

Fluoride - Releasing Dental Restorative Materials : An Update

The fluoride ion has a well-established beneficial role in dentistry in protecting the teeth from assault by caries. It is known to contribute to the dynamic mineralisation process of the natural tooth mineral, and also to become incorporated with the mineral phase, forming a thin layer of fluorapatite. This is more resistant to acid attack than the native hydroxyapatite, hence protects the too...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

surface antibacterial properties of four tooth-colored restorative materials

objective: this study investigated the antibacterial properties of an ion-releasing resin composite (degufill), a hybrid resin composite (inten-s), a compomer (compoglass f) and a resin-modified glass ionomer (vitremer) against streptococcus mutans. materials and methods: the bacteria were derived from the dental plaque and cultured on blood agar plates. eppendorf tubes were filled by unset res...
